Kerakoll Biotile Grey is an eco-friendly cementitious mineral adhesive designed for the dependable installation of absorbent ceramic tiles, clay tiles, and small natural stones. Certified as a Class C1T adhesive, this high-purity formulation delivers robust initial grab and heavy-duty tensile bond strength on stable traditional substrates.

Engineered under sustainable green-building principles, its no-slip formula offers smooth workability and precise vertical control. It is an ideal, budget-friendly solution for everyday residential and commercial tiling projects across both floor and wall applications.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Class C1T Certified: Formulated with high-purity modified cementitious materials to provide a rigid, long-lasting set on traditional masonry.

  • No-Slip Vertical Grab (T): Reliable thixotropic mechanics hold wall tiles steadily in place during installation, minimizing sagging and layout misalignment.

  • Excellent Coverage & Yield: Delivers an efficient material consumption rate of 1.2 kg/$m^2$ per mm of depth, optimizing project material costs.

  • Extended Pot Life: Offers an extended 6-hour pot life and a comfortable 30-minute open working window, allowing installation teams ample time to handle adjustments safely.

  • Water & Weather Resistant: Developed to maintain a secure structural bond in standard domestic wet areas, including kitchens, corridors, and bathrooms.

  • Economical Project Choice: Provides professional-grade reliability and high coverage at an accessible price point for large-scale standard tiling.

How to Use for Best Results

  1. Substrate Preparation: Ensure the bonding substrate is compact, fully cured, dry, and completely free of loose dust, oils, paint laitance, or structural cracks.

  2. Mixing: Measure clean water into a mixing container and gradually stir in the Biotile Grey powder. Mix thoroughly with a low-speed mechanical stirrer until a homogeneous, lump-free paste is formed. Let the mortar stand for 2 to 3 minutes to mature, then stir briefly again before application.

  3. Application Technique: Apply a thin scraping layer to the substrate with the flat edge of a trowel to establish mechanical grip, then comb immediately with an appropriately sized notched trowel (3 mm to 10 mm bed thickness depending on tile size).

  4. Tile Embedding: Press the tile firmly into the wet adhesive ridges using a slight sliding motion to ensure complete contact. Tap down gently with a rubber mallet to expel any trapped air pockets. Allow the adhesive bed to cure undisturbed for 24 hours before proceeding with joint grouting.

Note: Because this product has a grey cement base and a standard C1T classification, it is not recommended for non-absorbent vitrified tiles, large-format porcelain slabs, tile-on-tile applications, or translucent glass mosaics. Use Kerakoll Bioflex White or H40 Gel for high-stress or delicate premium materials.
